Review & Description
IRIS: Iris is a genus of between 200-300 species of flowering plants with showy flowers. It takes its name from the Greek word for a rainbow, referring to the wide variety of flower colors found among the many species. A must have perennial, the iris tolerates wet, boggy areas and is very adaptable to a variety of soil types.
Iris tuberosa has unusual and interesting flowers of deep olive green mixed with yellow and black markings.
Commonly known as the 'Snakehead Iris', this interesting variety has a nice scent and will make a good addition to any iris collection. They are very hardy little plants. Mix them in amoungst other traditional early bloomers such as crocus, winter aconites and snowdrops.
