Featuring dozens of bright, pink to purplish flowers, the Rocky Mountain Bee Plant is a striking variety of the domesticated Cleome. Elongated spikes of blooms crowd on top of this tall annual wildflower, the long stamens giving the spikes a fuzzy appearance. Seed pods that grow up to 2 inches long cluster along the stems, making this plant highly ornamental and decorative to any garden or wildflower planting. Native American Indians and the early European settlers in America used this plant as an herb, and sometimes dried and ground the seeds into a meal that was then used as a mush or mixed with flour to make bread. Sometimes called the "stinking clover", this wildflower is not grown for it's scent, but it's stunning blooms far make up for it's lack in this area.
