Spreading and bushy when mature, Blue Cohosh is a large, many-stemmed perennial, approximately 3 feet tall! Flowers are inconspicuous and are followed by conspicuous blue berries. The seeds of Blue Cohash have reportedly been used as a coffee substitute, but seeds, roots and berries may be poisonous. Parts of the plant have been, and may still be, used medicinally.
