Review & Description
HOLLYHOCK SINGLE MIX [ Alcea Rosea ] **** 200 SEEDS **** Season: Perennial/Biennial Height: 4 - 5 Ft. Bloom Season: Early to Late Summer Environment: Full Sun/Moist Well Drained Soil Zones: 2 - 10 Hollyhock Single Mix [ Alcea Rosea ] has single flowers that are 3-5" across and are densely clustered together on the sturdy flower spikes. This is a mix of rose, pink, and white flowers. The plants are base branching and bloom from May to October. The flowers grow on rigid, towering spikes or spires which typically reach a height of 5-8' tall. Foliage features large, heart-shaped (3, 5 or 7 lobes), rough lower leaves which become progressively smaller toward the top of the spire. Try planting it where the early morning or late afternoon sun will backlight the flowers. Hollyhock Single Mix [ Alcea Rosea ] is grown in average, medium moisture, well-drained soil in full sun. Tolerates a wide range of soil conditions and some light shade, but will not tolerate wet winter soils. The plant is considered a biennial or short-lived perennial. If grown from seed, the seeds can be planted in August or September for bloom the following year. Although short-lived, hollyhocks easily self-seed and can establish colonies in the garden that persist for years as if they were perennials. The plant attracts hummingbirds and butterflies. PLANTING Sow Inside: Spring before last frost. Sow Outside: Spring - after last frost/Summer/Fall. Seed Depth: 1/8" Days to Emerge: 14 to 21 HOLLYHOCK SINGLE MIX [ Alcea Rosea ] Seeds
