Up for purchase is a lot consisting of 10 "San Pedro" Cactus Seeds. This plant, known botanically as Trichocereus pachanoi, is a native to the beautiful mountains of Peru and Ecuador. This is a very common landscaping cactus due to it super fast growth. It is one of the fastest of all columnar cacti. It grows the fastest in very sunny climates with long summers, but will grow basically anywhere. We live in the midwest and have a beautiful San Pedro growing in our home here in Wisconsin. San Pedro is a very easy to cultivate cacti and can be grown very easily from seeds. The cactus is famous for its spiritual and shamanic usage throughout the Americas There is evidence of ritualistic use of the San Pedro dating back to 1000BC. Even today it is used by Curanderos(medicine men). This is a very fast growing ribbed variety of cactus often growing 12 full inches a year or more! The San Pedro is a very common landscaping plant due to its very fast growth. They are a very hardy variety of cacti and grow easily in a wide range of conditions. The medicinal content of these cacti apparently are a defense mechanism against invading organisms, and increase during stressful conditions particularly when the cacti are under watered. The San Pedro Cactus is a very beautiful cactus and will grow beautiful flowers after a some years of growth. Flowering time varies greatly depending on the region and climate that the plant is growing in. Its super fun to grow and use, and im sure you'll love it!
