Review & Description
A stunning evergreen shrub that is covered in clusters of beautiful scarlet blooms; an excellent choice to mass in groupings, or as an elegant focal point of the garden; must have rich acidic soil. Scarlet Romance Rhododendron is bathed in stunning clusters of lightly-scented scarlet trumpet-shaped flowers at the ends of the branches from mid to late spring. It has dark green foliage. The glossy narrow leaves do not develop any appreciable fall color. The smooth gray bark is not particularly outstanding. Scarlet Romance Rhododendron is an open multi-stemmed evergreen shrub with an upright spreading habit of growth. Its relatively coarse texture can be used to stand it apart from other landscape plants with finer foliage. This is a relatively low maintenance shrub, and should only be pruned after flowering to avoid removing any of the current season's flowers. It has no significant negative characteristics.
